Hi Ray,
Nice fly or I must say nice flymph.
If I make a dubbing brush I stop turning when I am half way and then look to the result and pluck (?) with my fingers the dubbing that is to much between the already twisted threads, that is not possible when I use a dremel to make the brush, it goes so fast that the brush is ready before you can wink with an eye.

I do it the same as you Ruard. I like to fiddle with it before I finish the twist. Pull any extra long fibers out, smooth out any clumps I don't like, and give it a couple guitar style plucks to remove any loose fibers. I will also comb it with a dubbing rake.

Ray, I have been doing a little investigation of hatches for around ...the end of May in the Catskills region. With a little color tweaking of the body do you think this might make a decent green drake mature emerger pattern? From the pictures of nymphs and duns I see on the internet think it could.

Ray, this is a sheer beauty. I love this thread. I am so behind on catching up. I may never get fully caught up on all these threads...lol. This fly is truly remarkable. I love reading about these dubbing cards too. (and thanks Lance for those awesome photos)
