Hi Vicki...........your fly is gorgeous...........beautifully balanced use of materials...........you REALLY have a great way of doing your hairwing flies........just the right touch. The "Mix" (musically speakin') is just right. That balance ("Mix") is the most important thing for me.........it comes from all the thousands of recordings i did (engineered), over the years..............i still "Think" like that when i tye. Everything has to be balanced........and your doing a very fine job......

.....more please.....

let's see...........
well, whataya know.....i did have at least one pic space left.....done the old fashioned way

i guess this thing qualifies as a spider.........or perhaps a "spider cluster".....

i outta fish with it just to see what happens...........

This could be an entire hatch, or maybe one of the more complex multiple hatches. At least you'll have your bases covered. Great fly. Did you tie it for any purpose, group?

Thankx William.....i tyed it for the same reasons i tye all "My" flies (the artistics, not fishin' flies).....for the therapeutic values i recieve from simply doing the tying and being creative, to keep my mind active and stay productive, and to simply bring beauty into the world.

Great fly, Mark. I really enjoyed studying the construction of this fly. Your tinsel work is immaculate, as are the herl segments and head. I interpret the hackle to be more of a representation of your wild side.

Thankx Ray.....i consider it a blessing to not worry bout the distination to the detriment of the journey.....btw, the package came and THANKX! for everything.........i'm really diggin' your "book"......or soon to be book i hope. It's a great concept the way you've layed it out. It's entertaining and informative, and makes one wanna keep turnin' the pages.

i can't wait to view the contents of the disk.
GO! Mavs. i'm lookin' for some HEART!!!!!

See this is what I need to strive for. Simplicity of form, immaculate tying, cohesion all adding up to beautiful! You must have felt very satisfied at the end of this one!

actually, i pretty much just laughed my ass off........

i guess the cool thing is that every fly is to one degree or the other............an experiement......or a little side trip off the beatin path.......like fishin' a braid off the main channel of a river..........or tryin' an oxbow just for the hell of it.......i like to see just what the heck might happen if you go try a spot you might not normally try..........it's a bitch sometimes when you never repeat a fly........always tryin' to come up with something new and different.................which in all actuallity is not at all that new and or different in a lot of ways of lookin' at it......one could say..............it's just endless repeats of the same ole' same ole'..............and to a degree that is true..................but the point is..............to always be searching for new discoveries and experimenting with new ideas and forms.........and executions........it's the same with music...............there are only 12 notes (in western music)...........how many ways............................yet we constantly continue to tell the story...............that story...............that must be told.................and it's all in the delievery.................one strives to get across the footlights...............that journey is what counts.

Well, let's see if i still have even one more pic space (done the old fashioned way

), left. Here goes.....

Well, it seems it went through.........ie: the upload worked.....we'll try "submitting" it now.
Hot digitty damn.......it worked.........

of course as always, click on the pic itself, to see a better/bigger version.....
i found that bead (if it is a bead

) in Montana last year, or the year before.........i forget..........to me, it just looked like some wrecked space ship left on some distant planet........i had to shape/bend the hook a bit to accomodate that bead..........8 JC nails in the dressing..............but i screwed up and left the second set on the tail to far forward.....they should of been placed further back.........no biggie i spose...........i'll never tye a fly (complete a work of art) i'm completely happy with anyway............

..........

.........just the way it is..........
