I have a chart that shows it to be the same as a Daiichi 1550 or 1560.

I got my order of the new spider hooks on Monday and they are a cracking hook. I have a few swap flies to get out of the way, then on to the new hooks (and the lovely dyed mole).

Do ya have any of the Daiichi 1640 2Xshorts to compare the 'new' hooks against ?

Without tying on them yet, just the appearance of the hooks is good. Both hooks have a microbarb, making it easier to debarb the hook. The wire on the Partridge hook is finer than the Daiichi, with the Partridge hook listed as 2 Extra Fine. Unlike the Daiichi hooks, the Partridge are neither kirbed nor reversed (hook point offset slightly from the shank. The shank on the Partridge hook is a 1 extra short so you have just a bit more room to tie on. I'm really liking the look of the hook.

I have a funny feeling I'll be ordering more of these. I only got 50 size 12's and 75 size 14's.
