Ray your spelling is
atrocious!

As my old schoolteacher used to say MAKE SURE YOU LOOK THAT WORD UP!
Mark this is beautiful! The colour is my favourite. Those long hooks are nice. They give you such a beautiful long support to work with. I love long canvases for painting vistas particularly large bodies of water. This fly flows beautifully and actually looks like it went together easily for you. Looks just like a long wave rolling into the shore and splashing off the rocks.
There is nothing like Mother Earth in all her glory. She never ceases to amaze me!

Enjoy your day and what it brings you.
Vicki

Thank guys.....makes me feel the work is worth all the effort. Much appreciated.....and Vicki you couldn't be more right. There is nothing more awe inspiring than nature...........for me, nature is just another word for God. And God IS nature. Simply a one in the same type a deal. Just seems like when your out there, (and naturally being part of it all the time anyway), it's just impossible to deny the existance, seeing what you see all around you. The diversity alone is enough to just blow you completely away. That just don't happen by accident.....you dig?
btw, you sound like Laura from Little House on the Prarie.....you go to a one room school house too?

next fly (tyed yesterday), later this eve.....i hope.

Ok, here it is...........tyed yesterday..........has a double rib which is very hard to see in the pic.........the head has yellow Ostrich herl behind it. There's prolly 8 or 10 Amhearst Pheasant Crest in the wing.....some natural, some off heads that were attached the necks that had been dyed. i keep all my Amhearst Pheasent crest in the same bag..........but they come from lots of different birds, natural and dyed. There's also a couple dyed purple Golden Pheasant Crest in the wing. The tag is made out of some materials that is very silk like, but i don't think it's silk at all........don't even know where or how i got it........prolly swiped it from Misa.....

and it is not meant to be fly tying material.......it was part of a gift wraping or some dang thing.....i think.....

who knows.....
Color is a feather off a hen cape.......dyed Silver Lace Wyendott.....i tole' ya bout the dubbing and ribbing above, in a previous post.........

i almost totally screwed up the head.........first coat was Griff's Thin.....then a coat of Hard Headed.....then some of Misa's sort of a gold sparkle girls finger nail polish.....then Salley's Mega Shine by accident.....picked up the wrong bottle...........it was to thick.......and i didn't realize it til i had some on there, so i hadda finish that coat.........then i hadda go over that with Salley's Diamond Shine and fix it..........i managed to save it..........but it was a bitch.

ok, it's finished.........& btw, the wing is not only picric dyed Mallard.....it's Bronze Mallard. i'm a bit miffed bout the end result of the tyin' though.....i see two things, or three for that matter.....that i didn't do, that now i wish i had...................

............that is partly the result of not thinking the fly through enough, and partly because of not taking enough time to "see" things when they are reveled, so they can be addressed. But it's all part-a-the-deal.....to the tune of a $10. hook & a $18. bead, that could of been better utilized. Live & learn.
i do like the way the colar came out......it's CDL, and i didn't want it to be to obvious, so i left just a bit of where the fibers were loosin' their speckledness, and included the last couple wraps of pretty much just dark brown/light black fibers, to sort of camaflodge the speckled fibers a tad. i spose my thinking was to not have the collar distract from the bead........we'll see how this all plays out when Misa takes a pic. i almost never ask her to redo the pics, because it's just to much to ask.....so very often, "better" pics "could" be had..........but it's a what you see is what you get world.

Shoot Straight is something I can imagine you tying more of Mark. It just says you designed it to me. A beauty! I wish I could see the colors more in the wing and all. But the aesthetic appeal is certainly a winner for me.

Vicki, i love your sick sense of humor............gives me a healthy feeling...........

Glad you like it.........oh and btw, hangin' out in that parta the store can be fun.
OK, it's finished..............with first coat so far.............that's two Misa has to shoot now. i'm BURNIN'!!!!!

but i'm gonna get off to somethin' different now. Three in a row on Jens' hooks is enough of that for now. i think i'll do one on a Lucas hook. haven't done that in a while..............
