Thank you. We had a big dinner at Thanksgiving. Today was just snack foods. I have gained 3 pounds lately. I wish the best of times for you and Misa. We are having very drenching rains here. We needed the rain, but it does put a damper on things. It has been raining all day long. If it was colder, we would be having a blizzard I think.

LOL...yes. Well. What CAN you do about it? Nothing. I had a couple of hot teas, and that warmed me up. I got to visit with my mother, brother, sister-in-law, and one of my nieces. The only time I see my brother is a major holiday, or my mom's birthday or something. So it was good. My niece looks so much like my brother when he was young. She also has a hint of my mother's looks about her. None of the other kids could make it this trip.

OK, Midnight At The Oasis is finished........4 days later.........

i ended up using four feathers to do the collar. Two dyed yellow White Eared Pheasant feathers first & last, one Egypian Goose feather second, and a mystery feather third. Head ended up just a tiny bit larger than i might of wanted.....but actually, proportionally it's just fine. i've got the Griff's thin on there, and i may try to get a coat of Hard Headed on there before i crash..........my back is killin' me again.............20 minutes later.........ok, the second coat is on. "It Won't Be Long Now!"

this is the 4th attempt to get these pics up and i am PISSED!!!!!!!!!! got signal problems.........and i can't seems to get "things" downloaded or uploaded" or whatever the hell it is.........................but anyway.......................damnit it better work this time.............
"Finally"...........the dog gone thing worked right..........well...........i changed the name of the fly.............Midnight At The Oasis was a good idea at the time (when the fly was bout half dressed), but just doesn't fit now..............so. The new name is the Rio de Janerio Blues.............i took the pics to save Misa some time and unfortunately they are nowhere near as good as her's would of been. It is frickin' impossible to get all the little details in, when your tryin' to take a close up, of a fly this big. So, two of the most important things in a dressing (tail and head), cannot be seen very well in thes pics at all........
i do however, fell real good about how the bead veilings came out after i painted them with Bic pens. It's a nice effect. One pic is with no flash and one is usin' flash.......the pics suck.......but what the heck.......if you really wanna see it well (and hundreds more), come over to the house, OR buy the fly.

clcik the pics

Good job! The pics ain't half bad.
I see what you mean about the name. The back half definitely fits the old name. The front half looks like a show girl. Hey Show Girl at the Oasis!

Mark, you are on fire here. This is a definite beauty, way up on my list of favorites from you. I love the wing, the bead, collar, The colors blend superbly, lots of flow, and character here. A definite WINNER for me.
