Wayne,
Your Muskrat pattern (ugly or pretty) is proof that simple is often best. The picture of it wet just screams--fish me! Thank you for including it in the recent fly swap. I would like to know more about the fly in the last picture; is that a quill body covered in UV?
Thanks- Ken

The last fly is a thread body (Veevus A05). The rib is the tag , colored dark Brown with a permanent marker. Then treated with UV.
Thank you,
Wayne

Muskrat is magical fur. I've tied flies with synthetics. Synthetics are gray. But muskrat--you can see it yourself when reeling in, say, a large Dark Cahill wet, that it's SILVER in the water. Big difference. Stick wit da rat!
