Dove Truffle Milk Chocolate

So what does Dove Truffle Milk Chocolate have to do with Tying Wingless Wets? Nothing.. but the shiny blue metallic wrapper makes an awesome looking wingless wet fly pattern.

I really like the Blue body John. I have to admit though, when I first read it, I imagined that I would see some options for the poor Mourning Dove who tried to fly through my office window this morning. The feathers seem like they would make a very nice soft hackle collar. He is currently in a Ziplock. I'll share some photos after the skin and feathers are cleaned.

That's a nice looking fly. What's the hackle?

Bob, the hackle is starling with a black squirrel/antron dubbing mix for the thorax. I hope it works, I ended up tying a bunch to test this Spring.

WiFly,

Personally I prefer the Dove Dark chocolate with the red wrapper! Just don't know what the heck I'd tie with it. LOL... I'm a dark chocolate kinda guy. Blue flies are cool though. Nice work.

Very thoughtful, John. I once fished a blue wired spider very similar to yours a couple seasons ago with great results. It was very popular with the brown trout.
Starling hackle, squirrel thorax and no tail.

Thanks for sharing!
